Ace Performer, Celine Dion Cancels 2023 Shows Over Battle With Incurable Disease
Celine Dion, veteran Canadian music artiste has opened up on her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes one’s muscles to tense uncontrollably.
The 54-year-old made the announcement in a video on her Instagram page on Thursday, where she disclosed that her 2023 shows had been moved to 2024.
She noted that the rare disease, which occurs in one in a million people, had caused her to have spasms.
The Power of Love singer said, “Hello everyone, im sorry it’s taken me so long to reach out to you. I miss you all so much and can’t wait to be on stage talking to you in person.
“As you know I’ve always been an open book and I wasn’t ready to say anything before but im ready now.
“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time and its been really difficult for me to face my challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.
“Recently, I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called the stiff person syndrome which affects 1 in a million people
“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all the spasms I’ve been having.”
The caption of the video read, “Celine Dion reschedules Spring 2023 shows to 2024,and cancels eight of her summer 2023 shows.”

President Tinubu mourns Mr Ibu and Sisi Quadri
President Bola Tinubu has joined Nigerians in mourning ace comedians, John Okafor, a.k.a Mr .Ibu, and Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri, who died Saturday and Friday, at 62 and 44 years old respectively.
A release issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, said: “President Tinubu condoles with the families of these gifted thespians who brought joy and relief to millions of Nigerians by the exercise of their geniuses.
“The President exhorts the bereaved to take solace in the truth that even though these beloved Nigerians have passed on, they will always live through their works which will remain an inspiration and a fount of good cheer for many.”
Tinubu also commiserated with the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), and the entire creative community, assuring them of his support, thoughts, and prayers in this time of grief.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and comfort for all those in mourning

Actor, Sisi Quadri buried amid tears in Iwo( photos)
Popular Yoruba comedian and star actor, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji (Sisi Quadri), who died on Friday, has been buried.
The body was laid to rest on Saturday in Iwo, Osun State.
Before he was buried, his body was laid on a colourful mat as prayers were said for him.
The mammoth crowd was difficult to control because everybody wanted to catch a glimpse of the late actor’s remains.
The deceased was wrapped in a white cloth and tears flowed freely as his colleagues and fans cried uncontrollably when they sighted his lifeless body.
