Actor Baba Ijesha Receives Chieftaincy Title and Gifts from Ooni of Ife

Nigerian actor James Olarenwaju, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has announced that he received a brand-new car and a chieftaincy title from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The actor shared the news via a social media post on Thursday, expressing his gratitude to the traditional ruler for the gesture, which followed the recent birth of his son with fashion designer Abiodun Tokunbo, also known as Luminee.
In his statement, Baba Ijesha thanked the Ooni for the “royal welcome” and the gifts bestowed upon him and his partner. He also confirmed his installation as the *Baba Awada Konge Oduwa* of Ile-Ife.
The announcement comes shortly after the actor and Luminee publicly celebrated the arrival of their child in mid-June 2026. The couple has been the subject of significant social media attention since revealing their relationship and the birth of their son.
Baba Ijesha, a well-known figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry, made headlines in recent years following legal proceedings that resulted in a three-year prison sentence for sexual assault. He was released from custody in November 2025 after completing his term.
