ADC Presidential Aspirant, Hayatu-Deen Meets Jonathan Ahead of 2027 Election

Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a presidential aspirant under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), held a closed-door meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja on Friday to discuss Nigeria’s future and the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The meeting brought together two political figures with a long history of collaboration in public service, stretching back to Jonathan’s tenure as vice-president and later as president. During that period, Hayatu-Deen served on the National Council on Privatisation and chaired the Bureau of Public Enterprises. He also sat on the Presidential Advisory Committee when Jonathan was acting president and subsequently as president, contributing to economic and governance reforms.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Hayatu-Deen said he had come to formally inform Jonathan of his decision to run for president in 2027 on the ADC ticket. The economist and banker noted that his career across both public and private sectors had helped create millions of jobs, reinforcing his resolve to further serve the nation.
He also disclosed that he had obtained the ADC presidential nomination form from the party’s national secretariat. Hayatu-Deen praised Jonathan’s statesmanship on the African continent, describing him as a strong advocate for democratic growth, electoral integrity, and sustainable governance.
The former president received Hayatu-Deen warmly and wished him success in his political journey ahead of the 2027 elections.
