Agboola Ajayi clinches PDP Governorship ticket in Ondo State
The former deputy governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the November governorship election.
He polled 264 votes at the party primary, beating his closest rival, a former member of the House of Representatives, Kolade Akinjo, who got 157 votes.
while Mr Olusola Ebiseni came third with 99 votes.
Mr Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the Chairman of the seven-man 2024 PDP Governorship Primary Election Committee, declared Ajayi winner after the exercise on Thursday in Akure.
The seven aspirants who contested for the governorship ticket are Agboola Ajayi, Laolu Akinwumi, Olusola Ebiseni, Bamidele Akingboye, Kolade Akinjo, Bosun Arebuwa, and John Mafo.
Ewhrudjakpo said that the aspirants have assured the committee of their cooperation in ensuring a peaceful conduct of the primary election
