AMVCA 2026: Full List of Winners as Ceremony Holds in Lagos

The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) is currently underway at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, celebrating outstanding achievements in African film, television, and digital storytelling.

The ceremony, which kicked off at 7 p.m. on Saturday, is being broadcast live across all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv, as well as streamed via DStv Stream and GOtv Stream.

In the Best Costume Design category, “Colours of Fire” – Valerie Okeke emerged winner, while “Warlord” – Hakeem Onilogbo took home the award for Best Makeup.

The Best Sound/Sound Design award went to “My Father’s Shadow” – Pius Fatoke and CJ Mirra. For Best Writing in a TV series, “MTV Shuga Mashariki” – Annette Shadeya, Natasha Likimani, Mkamzee Mwatela, Arnold Mwanjila, and Makgano Mamabolo claimed the prize.

“Colours of Fire” – Ajamolaya Bunmi won Best Art Direction, while “My Father’s Shadow” – Wale Davies secured Best Writing for a Movie. The Best Cinematography award was taken by “To Kill A Monkey” – Kabelo Thathe.

In the digital category, “Leave To Live” – Emmanuel Kanaga and Sophia Chisom emerged winners for Best Digital Content Creator. For Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), “Lisabi (A Legend is Born)” – Lateef Adedimeji clinched the award.

Other nominees across various categories included productions such as “The Serpent’s Gift”, “Gingerrr”, “Suky”, “The Herd”, “Blackout”, and “Aljana”, among others.
