Atiku Edges Obi, Tinubu In Bayelsa

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has won the presidential poll in Bayelsa state.

The Returning Officer, Prof Lilian Salami, Vice- Chancellor, University of Benin who announced the result at the Mahmood Yakubu Centre said Atiku polled 68,818 votes to beat Peter Obi of the Labour Party who polled 49,975 votes and Bola Ahmed Tinubu who polled 42,572 votes.

A breakdown of the result indicated that Atiku won in five local government areas including the home local government of Governor Diri, Kolokuma/ Opokuma. Other local governments he won include Southern Ijaw, Ekeremor, Sagbama and Brass.
