Bandits Abduct Women, Infant in Fresh Kaduna Community Attack

Gunmen have abducted several residents, including a nursing mother and her baby, during a violent raid on Gidan Tama community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, around 2 a.m., plunging the hitherto peaceful community into chaos as armed bandits invaded homes and fired sporadically.

According to a security alert issued on Wednesday by a group monitoring the situation, Bakatsine, the assailants stormed the community, leaving at least three people injured after being shot. Scores of others were forcefully taken away.

“Last night around 2am, bandits attacked Gidan Tama community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State,” the statement read. “Three residents were shot and injured, while several others were abducted including a married woman and her months old infant child.”

The alert further revealed that this marks the second time in ten days that the community has been targeted, heightening fears among residents over the deteriorating security situation in the area.

Authorities are yet to issue an official response regarding the incident as at the time of this report. The attack adds to the growing concern over persistent banditry and kidnappings in communities across Southern Kaduna.
