Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has reshuffled the State Executive Council, resulting in the exit of two commissioners and the voluntary resignation of another.
A statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, confirmed that the changes are part of ongoing efforts to optimize governance and boost service delivery across the state. Under the new directive, Mohammed Gamawa, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industries, and Investment, alongside Dr. Lawal Zayam, the Commissioner for Power, Science, and Technology, have been relieved of their cabinet portfolios with immediate effect.
Additionally, the governor has accepted the resignation of Faruk Mustapha, who previously headed the Ministry of Rural Development and Special Duties.
To fill the vacancies and maintain administrative continuity, Governor Mohammed has submitted a list of new commissioner nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and legislative confirmation. The administration expressed gratitude to the departing officials for their service and contributions to the state’s development.
