Bayelsa Governor Orders Autopsy into Deputy Governor’s Mysterious Death

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has ordered an autopsy to be conducted on his late deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, to determine the cause of his sudden death.

The governor gave the directive during a condolence visit by former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, to him and the Ewhrudjakpo family at the Government House, Yenagoa, on Saturday.

According to Governor Diri, the autopsy was necessary due to speculation and rumours circulating on social media about the circumstances surrounding Ewhrudjakpo’s death.

Former President Jonathan, who was also a deputy governor of Bayelsa State, described Ewhrudjakpo’s death as a sad moment for all Bayelsans, praising him as a dedicated and humble individual who always represented the state at various events.

Jonathan recalled Ewhrudjakpo’s active participation in the Jonathan Foundation’s Democracy Dialogue programme and other events, stating that his death was a loss to the state and the country. Kk
