Biafra Lawyer Ejiofor Alleges Life Threats, Blames Notable Individuals
A prominent human rights lawyer and counsel for the Indigenous People of Biafra, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has raised alarm over threats to his life and family, alleging involvement of notable individuals in Anambra State.
In a petition dated December 29, 2025, Ejiofor stated that the threats intensified after he requested security coverage from the Anambra State Vigilante Group (AVG) for his Oraifite home.
According to Ejiofor, AVG personnel were deployed to his residence, but were withdrawn after a lawmaker and the State Commander of AVG allegedly pressured the Commander, citing orders from an unnamed “Oga” in Oraifite. Ejiofor claims this left his household vulnerable to attack.
He alleges that attempts were made to mobilize police to raid his home, falsely claiming AVG personnel were impersonators with AK-47 rifles terrorizing the neighborhood. The Anambra State Police Command found no evidence to support these claims.
Ejiofor warns that the threats are a premeditated plan to attack his home and frame “unknown gunmen”. He has disclosed the identity of the alleged mastermind to security authorities, holding them responsible for any harm to him or his family.
