Bible Society Donates Theological Books to Lagos Seminary

The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has donated copies of the Holy Bible and theological books to the Baptist College of Theology, Agbowa, Ikorodu, Lagos, in a bid to support Christian education. The donated materials include scholarly editions such as Bibles in Greek and Hebrew, an English dictionary, and a synopsis of the four Gospels.

During the event, BSN’s General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, highlighted the society’s objectives, which include Bible translation, publication, distribution, scriptural engagement, and fundraising. He emphasized the importance of engaging with scriptures, particularly in institutions like the Baptist College of Theology, where pastors are being trained for ministry.

Sanusi revealed that BSN partners with the German Bible Society to provide seminaries with scriptural resources, noting that many institutions struggle to stock their libraries due to the high costs of these materials. “Some of the materials we brought here are very expensive, and if you go to some seminaries, their libraries are empty. So how do we equip these upcoming ministers to be grounded in the Word?” he asked.

The donation aims to equip students with the necessary resources to deepen their understanding of the Bible and support their ministerial training.
