Broda Shaggy Hospitalised After Gunshot Injury During Skit Shoot in Ogun State

Popular Nigerian comedian and social media influencer Samuel Perry, known professionally as Broda Shaggy, is currently receiving medical treatment after sustaining a gunshot wound while filming a comedy skit in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge. According to sources familiar with the matter, the content creator was in the middle of a skit production when he was hit by a gunshot. The exact circumstances surrounding how the shooting happened remain unclear.

A police source who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed that the comedian’s crew members acted swiftly to get him medical attention. “He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source explained.

Broda Shaggy was initially taken to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos, where he received first aid. He was later transferred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja, where he is currently recuperating.

Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, stated that authorities were alerted after the hospital reported receiving a gunshot victim.

“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggy,” Adebisi said.

She added, “He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing.”

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, noted that the command had not received any official report regarding the incident, despite it allegedly occurring within Ogun State.
