CDCFIB Disowns Fake Circular Endorsing 2027 Political Ticket

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has refuted a fake circular circulating on social media that endorsed a political ticket featuring former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, for the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement released on Friday by its Head of Press and Public Relations, Okeh Juliet, the Board categorized the document as false, unauthorized, and entirely fabricated.

“The Board wishes to dissociate itself from the purported statement and wishes to inform the public that it is false, unauthorized, and as such, did not originate from the Board or the Office of the Secretary to the Board,” the statement noted.

The fraudulent circular, which mimicked official communication from the Office of the Secretary, cited administrative delays in the agency’s ongoing recruitment process due to required clearances from the Ministry of Interior. It then injected political commentary, suggesting that a prospective Obi-Kwankwaso candidacy under an “NDC platform” would streamline governance and resolve bureaucratic issues.

Clarifying its stance, the CDCFIB emphasized that the document contained political undertones entirely inconsistent with its strict non-partisan standards. The agency reiterated its commitment to institutional reforms and service delivery under the leadership of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Members of the public, particularly job applicants, have been advised to disregard the fraudulent circular in its entirety and rely solely on official CDCFIB channels for verified updates regarding recruitment and agency operations.
