Defence Minister Threatens Legal Action, Denies Resignation Rumours
Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), has firmly dismissed reports suggesting he intends to resign from office, describing the claims as baseless and expressing shock over their origin.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday following a hour-long closed-door briefing with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Musa confirmed he would initiate legal proceedings against those behind the unverified reports.
He attributed the speculation to individuals with the President was a standard security update, noting that President Tinubu expressed confidence in the military’s current performance. Musa further called on the public to maintain support for security agencies, reiterating that defeating terrorism and banditry requires a whole-of-society approach.
