Delta Assembly Confirms Oghene as State Auditor-General

The Delta State House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed Mr Matthew Oghene, as the state’s new Auditor-General, following his nomination by Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that Oborevwori had, on Sept. 2, forwarded Oghene’s name to the Assembly for confirmation.

The confirmation followed a motion moved by Mr Charles Emetulu (APC-Ndokwa West) and seconded by Mr Blessing Achoja, representing Ethiope West Constituency.

The motion was unanimously adopted by the Assembly after a voice vote conducted by the Speaker, Mr Dennis Guwor.

Guwor congratulated Oghene on his confirmation and urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by the House by discharging his responsibilities with integrity and professionalism.

He also wished Oghene success in the discharge of his duties as Auditor-General and urged him to uphold accountability and transparency in the management of public resources.
