E-Money Confirms N50m Reward for Carter Efe After Celebrity Boxing Victory

Lagos socialite and businessman Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, has pledged to pay social media comedian Carter Efe N50 million following his victory over singer Habeeb ‘Portable’ Badmus.

The fight took place on Friday night at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event held at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. Carter Efe secured a unanimous decision win against Portable, who had entered the bout with an undefeated record in celebrity boxing.

E-Money confirmed the payment after the event when put on the spot by Balmoral Group Promotions CEO, Ezekiel Adamu. The businessman stated that he was honouring his earlier promise and congratulated the skit-maker on his win.

The contest ended with all three judges scoring the bout 27-30 in favour of Carter Efe, handing him a comfortable victory. Portable had previously beaten Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington in celebrity exhibition matches, winning two belts in the process. However, the ZaZoo crooner could not extend his record, as Efe used his height advantage and clean combinations to dominate the fight.

In the co-main event, Godday Appah was crowned the new WBO Africa cruiserweight champion after a split decision victory over Ezra Arenyeka. The bout was billed as a symbolic peace fight between the Itsekiri and Ijaw communities of the Niger Delta.

Also on the night, Basit Adebayo claimed the WBO Africa title with a unanimous decision win over former WABU champion Loren Japhet.
