The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru, has explained that the Executive Order banning the use of tinted glasses and unregistered cars in the state was as a result of the rising spate of insecurity.

Nwifuru, who spoke during a special Church Service held at the New Government House Chapel, centenary city, Abakaliki on Sunday.

This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s chief press secretary, Monday Uzor.

The governor recalled with sadness the killing of four police officers in the state last week Friday, while on duty along Hilltop Road, Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.

The assailants, the governor revealed, came on tinted glass and unregistered vehicles.

According to the governor, it is needless for public officers to mask themselves in tinted vehicles after being elected by the people.

“I wonder why after asking people to vote me, and I will turn out to be hiding myself. I remember when I was a speaker, I directed my drivers to remove all the tinted glasses because I didn’t see why I should be hiding.

“Because of insecurity, people lost hope from going to farm. Security should be everyone’s business. As government officials, we must do something. We have all the intelligence about the activities of these hoodlums. And very soon, they will face the music,” the Governor said.
