EFCC Declares Former Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq Wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, wanted over allegations of criminal conspiracy, abuse of office, and diversion of public funds.
The anti-graft agency published the wanted notice on its website on Saturday.
According to the notice, Farouq, aged 52, is an indigene of Zamfara State. Her last known address is listed as EN 008, Okpo River, off Agulu Street, Maitama, Abuja.
The notice, signed by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, urged anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact the commission.
The commission directed the public to report to any of its offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja. People can also call 08093322644, email info@efcc.gov.ng, or contact the nearest police station.
Farouq served as minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2019 to 2023.
