Endangered leatherback sea turtle released back into the ocean after it was caught in Bayelsa fisherman’s net

An endangered leatherback Turtle measuring over 5ft in length was released back to the ocean at Opu-Okumbiri in Akassa Clan, Bayelsa State by the Safe Earth Foundation

It was caught in a Fisherman’s net and the fisherman informed team members of the foundation who swung into action

It is believed that there are less than 40,000 leatherback Turtle left in the world.

The Safe Earth Foundation is an organisation that supports the conservation of Turtles in Southern Nigeria. (NigerDelta Insider)
