Enugu East zone endorses Tinubu, Mbah for 2027, donates N300m

The Enugu East Senatorial Zone has declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement came during a solidarity rally held at Okpara Square in Enugu, tagged “Ofu Obi Rally for Tinubu and Mbah.” The zone, which covers six local government areas, also donated N300 million to support Mbah’s re-election bid.
The motion adopting Tinubu as the preferred presidential candidate was moved by Senator Kelvin Chukwu and seconded by Mr Nnolim Nnaji. Similarly, the endorsement of Mbah for a second term was moved by Mr Iloabuchi Aniagu and seconded by Mr Anthony Mbah.
Former Senate President Ken Nnamani described Mbah as a visionary leader with strong implementation capacity, citing the governor’s Smart Green Schools initiative as a key achievement.
Former governor of old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo, said Mbah deserved another term to consolidate his gains, adding that Nkanu land and Enugu State had no other governorship candidate.
Speaking on behalf of federal lawmakers from the zone, Nnaji said the endorsement was based on performance and good governance, not on kinship.
Governor Mbah expressed gratitude for the vote of confidence, highlighting achievements such as Smart Green Schools, primary healthcare reforms, modern transport infrastructure, CNG buses, and planned free school feeding from September 2026. He urged voters to remain vigilant and support continuity in 2027.
