Enugu Governor Awards Scholarships to Over 760 Students and Teachers

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has approved a new round of scholarships for more than 760 beneficiaries under the 2025/2026 Local Scholarship Scheme. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the state government to increase access to education and foster human capital development across the region.
According to the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board, the selected beneficiaries represent all 17 local government areas in the state. The group includes over 500 undergraduate students, 100 postgraduate students, and 160 public sector teachers.
Successful applicants, who were selected following a competitive Computer-Based Test, are currently being notified via email and text message. These individuals have been instructed to report for official verification and documentation procedures.
The scholarship program is a cornerstone of the Mbah administration’s development agenda, which prioritizes heavy investment in digital learning, school infrastructure, and educator training. Officials emphasized that the program is designed to ensure that financial hardship does not hinder qualified residents from attaining higher education.
The state government has confirmed that this is not the final phase of the project, noting that additional beneficiaries will be included in future rounds. Residents are encouraged to remain engaged with the state’s education initiatives as the government continues to work toward making quality education more accessible to the public.
