FAMILY, FRIENDS CELEBRATE UCH FOUNDER WITH SURPRISE BIRTHDAY

Saturday, April 18, 2026 will remain indelible to the Medical Director, Unique Consultant Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Taofeek Yekeen as his wife, Mrs Iyabo Yekeen and Children organized a surprise befitting 60th birthday for him.

The Sixtieth surprise birthday of the gynaecologist witnessed turnout of traditional rulers, political leaders, family and friends with glamour and meriment.

Speaking at the event, chairman of the occasion, the Special Adviser to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Tertiary Education, Professor Akeem Azeez said the celebrant deserved the surprise birthday by his wife and children due to his impactful contributions to the society.

Professor Azeez urged him to continue with his humility, kindness and touching of people’s life positively which had earned him household name in Ekiti.

In the same vein, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe who was represented by the Omosio of Ado-Ekiti, High Chief Abiola Opeyemi stressed that Dr. Yekeen’s philantrophic gesture was top-notch and enjoined him to continue in that direction.

Similarly, the President-General, League of Imams and Alfas for South West, Edo and Delta states, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello, emphasized that the celebrant’s passion for saving lives rather than monetary gains singled him out in the medical profession in Ekiti State.

In a remark, the Chief Imam of Ekiti State Government House, Alhaji AbdulFatai Olorunkemi said the celebrant had saved many lives and gave back to the society, hence the need for him to often find time to relax because of age.

In a response, the celebrant, Dr. Taofeek Yekeen who could not hide his joy, thanked Allah for His mercy over him and promised to continue to add value to mankind through kindness and generosity.,

Wife of the celebrant and organizer of the surprise party, Mrs Iyabo Yekeen thanked God for keeping her husband alive, saying love and trust sustained their home.

Highlight of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration included goodwill messages across the globe by the celebrant’s friends in schools, professional colleagues, Ibadan Descendants Union, Ibadan Elites Ekiti State as well as display of childhood pictures.
