Fresh Kidnapping in Kaduna Community Heightens Fears After Mass Abduction
Just days after the abduction of 177 worshippers in Kurmin Wali, armed bandits have struck again in Kaduna State’s Kajuru Local Government Area, kidnapping four individuals in a new attack.
The incident occurred on Friday evening as the victims were returning from Maro Market. According to a community source, their vehicle was intercepted along the Maro-Kajuru road, near the Kuturu Buzu area, which is only a short distance from the scene of last week’s mass kidnapping. The armed assailants reportedly forced the four travelers into a nearby bush.
This latest abduction has intensified fear and anxiety among local residents, who are expressing growing concern over persistent kidnappings and the apparent freedom of operation of criminal groups in the region.
Attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Command for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
Related Insecurity in Katsina
The report from Kaduna follows similar alarms raised by residents in the Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State. Communities there describe living under constant threat, despite past peace agreements with bandit groups.
Villagers report that armed men continue to launch attacks, impose levies, and directly threaten residents by phone. A recent attempted invasion in Unguwar Mailaya was reportedly repelled, but attackers later killed eight people in a neighboring area of Dandume Local Government.
Residents in both states are urgently calling for increased security presence and intervention to rescue victims, restore safety, and prevent further attacks.
