Gombe Governor Joins National Economic Council Conference
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, joined President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, other governors, federal ministers, and development partners at the two-day National Economic Council (NEC) conference in Abuja.
Held at the Presidential Villa, the conference is themed, “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan 2026 2030.” The forum aims to enhance policy coordination and collaboration between federal and state governments.
In his opening address, President Tinubu described the conference as a reflection of shared commitment to economic stability, deeper fiscal federalism, and tangible development outcomes, citing reforms, improved state revenue flows, and social investments as key pillars of his administration’s agenda.
Speaking on the sidelines, Governor Yahaya reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to policies that spur economic growth and improve livelihoods in Gombe State. He outlined ongoing strategic investments in agriculture, livestock, infrastructure, industrialization, education, and healthcare, aligning with the national development plan.
Yahaya highlighted Gombe’s deliberate positioning as an agricultural and livestock hub, noting that reforms and partnerships are already yielding results in food security, job creation, and economic diversification.
He emphasized the critical role of state governments in translating national plans into grassroots impact and expressed confidence that continued collaboration between federal, state, and private partners would advance Nigeria’s development agenda.
“The resolutions of this conference will strengthen our shared responsibility to move from policy to action,” Yahaya stated, adding that Gombe is taking active steps to expand economic opportunities, empower youth and women, and build resilient infrastructure for sustainable growth.
