Guns, Cash Seized as Anambra Police Foil Robbery, Suspects Flee
The Anambra State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in their efforts to combat crime, recovering firearms, a vehicle, and suspected stolen cash following a shoot-out with fleeing criminals in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, operatives attached to the Commissioner of Police Special Patrol Team conducted an offensive security operation in the area, leading to the recovery of one pump-action rifle, one locally fabricated single-barrel rifle, an ash-coloured Toyota Highlander with registration number UWN 680 PE, suspected stolen cash amounting to ₦636,700, and other incriminating items.
The recovery was made possible after the suspects’ operational vehicle was involved in an accident during a hot pursuit by police operatives, forcing them to abandon it and flee the scene. The incident occurred at about 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
The police operation is ongoing, with efforts underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice.
