Harmful Substance Attack at Ekiti School Prompts Emergency Response

A private school in Afao Ekiti was thrown into panic on Thursday after unidentified individuals reportedly sprayed a harmful chemical substance on students and staff.

The incident occurred at Christ in Me School, where assailants, described by witnesses as young men, discharged the substance locally referred to as “Iwerepe” before fleeing the scene.

Victims, including pupils and teachers, were left scratching and crying out in pain from the chemical’s effects. The alarm was raised immediately, prompting the swift intervention of the community’s traditional ruler.

Local authorities have been notified and a search is currently underway for the perpetrators. The motive for the attack remains unclear at this time.
