IGP Disu Inspects 23 Police Barracks, Pledges Welfare Upgrade

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu has inspected 23 Police barracks nationwide to assess living conditions for personnel and their families.

The exercise covered residential quarters and welfare infrastructure. The IGP interacted with officers and residents and evaluated facilities to identify areas requiring urgent intervention, rehabilitation and investment.

He said decent accommodation and functional welfare facilities are critical to personnel morale, wellbeing and effective service delivery. The IGP assured that welfare needs identified during the inspection would receive appropriate attention.

The tour, according to the Force, reflects leadership’s commitment to evidence-based assessment and practical solutions to infrastructure gaps in Police barracks.

“Personnel who dedicate themselves to protecting lives and property deserve decent and conducive living conditions,” Disu said, adding that improved welfare is integral to building a motivated and professional Force.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to sustained investment in accommodation, welfare infrastructure and support systems to strengthen officers’ capacity to discharge their duties.
