James Bond Bosses To Start Search For Daniel Craig’s Replacement
James Bond bosses to start search for Daniel Craig’s replacement after No Time To Die
Daniel Craig is set to step down as suave spy James Bond following the release of No Time To Die. Producers will need to start looking for a new Bond to replace Daniel – but when will they start looking for Daniel’s replacement?
Producers will soon be on the hunt for a new James Bond as Daniel Craig is stepping down.
Daniel’s last outing as the world’s most famous spy will be in the hotly-anticipated No Time To Die, which will be released in cinemas this Thursday after a number of delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Now bosses will need consider who to hire next for the role – with names like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Luke Evans, Tom Hiddleston and Regé-Jean Page all being thrown into the hat.
However, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli says they won’t start looking for Daniel’s replacement until “next year”.
Admitting she was “in denial” about Daniel’s exit, Barbara revealed they would turn their attention on their next appointment in 2022.
“We want Daniel to have his time of celebration,” she told BBC Radio 4’s Today show.
“Next year we’ll start thinking about the future.”
Fellow producer Michael G. Wilson also explained how Daniel has left some “big shoes to fill” after five films.
Daniel played Bond for 15 years and he shared how the role gave him “more things in life than he could wish for”.
“I look at what I have done and go, ‘That is part of Goldfinger’. I am like, ‘Wow, I am connected to Goldfinger, Dr No, Live And Let Die,'” he said in documentary, Being James Bond.
“My tenure is what it is, but it is only part of something bigger. I look back at the films and am incredibly proud of everyone one of them. I know we have done our best and we have really done our best.”
Daniel was left in tears as he gave a speech to the cast and crew when filming wrapped on No Time To Die.
He added: “Leaving this role is not easy, it is a really difficult thing to do. And it is not about money and fame. I am incredibly lucky and fortunate to have been able to do this.
