Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has made his first social media post since surviving a fatal car accident in Nigeria that took the lives of two close members of his team.

The 36-year-old boxer, who sustained minor injuries, shared an emotional tribute on Sunday across his social media handles following the December 29 crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The accident claimed the lives of his friends and associates, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

In his post, Joshua shared a photograph alongside the families of the deceased with the caption: “My Brother’s Keeper ❤️🕊️❤️.” The image conveys a message of solidarity and support as both men were laid to rest later that same Sunday.

The collision occurred when the SUV carrying Joshua and three others reportedly experienced brake failure and struck a stationary truck. According to earlier reports, Joshua had switched from the front passenger seat to the back just before impact because his frame was obstructing the driver’s view—a decision that may have saved his life.

Joshua, who had traveled to Nigeria for a holiday after his recent knockout win over Jake Paul, was treated for a leg fracture. He was discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve and returned to the United Kingdom on Saturday.
