Kwara Community Welcomes New Army Battalion to Boost Regional Security

Traditional rulers, local government officials, and residents of Irepodun Local Government Area in Kwara State have commended the Federal and State governments following the arrival of a new Nigerian Army battalion in Omu-Aran.

Speaking at a reception ceremony for the troops, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba AbdulRaheem Adeoti, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for establishing the battalion, led by Lt.-Col. Kehinde Avoseh, to bolster security across Kwara South.

“Our support, especially regarding the welfare of the battalion, will be 100 percent. We pray that this development continues to bring blessings, security, and progress to our communities,” Oba Adeoti stated.

The Executive Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, Abdulazeez Yakub, alongside community leaders, assured the military of full local cooperation. Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Brig. Gen. Nicholas Rume, noted that the deployment aligns with federal directives to expand operational capabilities and enhance security presence nationwide.
