Katsina Gov’t Trains Media Aides on AI, Social Media for Strategic Communication

The Katsina State Government has organised a one-day training workshop for media aides and communication officers to improve their skills in social media management and the use of artificial intelligence for strategic communication.

The workshop, held on Saturday, was put together by the Directorate of Media and Communication, Government House, Katsina.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Director-General of Media, Maiwada Dammallam, said the training was designed to tackle unprofessional conduct among media aides and equip them with modern communication tools.

He noted that digital communication and artificial intelligence have become indispensable globally, making it necessary for media handlers to keep pace with current trends.

Dammallam explained that social media platforms now offer faster and more convenient means of information dissemination than conventional media. He urged participants to pay close attention, adding that the initiative was inspired by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s vision for modern communication strategies.

The workshop, themed “Harnessing Social Media and AI for Effective Policy Implementation and Strategic Communication,” was facilitated by Optima Image Limited.

One of the participants, Jamil Hashimu, Media Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Governor, described the training as timely. He said it would enhance the ability of media aides to effectively communicate government policies and programmes to the people of Katsina State.
