Kebbi 2027: Mass Defection Hits ADC As Hundreds Join APC In Zuru

Hundreds of supporters of African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State have defected to All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of 2027 general elections.

Defectors were received by Governor Nasir Idris during political gathering in Zuru on Saturday.

An ADC member and House of Representatives aspirant, Anas Aliyu Gujiya, led some of defectors to join APC.

Speaking at event, Aliyu appealed to state government to strengthen security operations in Zuru Emirate, particularly in communities affected by banditry.

In his response, Governor Idris welcomed defectors and said his administration would continue working with security agencies to address insecurity and facilitate return of displaced residents to their communities.

Governor also acknowledged concerns about poor road conditions in area and pledged to pursue interventions, including on roads under federal jurisdiction.
