Kebbi Govt returns rescued schoolgirls to their families, confirms no evidence of sexual abuse

The Kebbi State Government has officially reunited the rescued schoolgirls of Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, with their fam!lies after days in captivity.

In a statement on Tuesday, the government confirmed that medical Examinations carried out on all 24 girls showed no evidence of sexual abuse, putting to rest widepread concerns following their abduction.

Officials praised the res!l!ence of the students and expressed gratitude to secur!ty agencies and local communities whose coordinated efforts contributed to the safe return of the girls.

Parents, overwhelmed with relief, welcomed their children amid emotional scenes at the handover event. The state government also announced that psychosocial support and continuous medical care will be prov!ded to help the students recover fully from the traumatic experience.

Authorities reaff!rmed their commitment to strengthening secur!ty around schools to prevent future attacks.
