Kebbi Police Arrest Nigerian Man Wanted For Killing Business Partner In Niger Republic

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a Nigerian man that was declared wanted in Niger Republic for k!lling his business partner.

The suspect, Mas’udu Saidu, was traced and arrested at Gulma town in Argungu Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed his arrest to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, September 25, 2026.

According to Usman, the suspect allegedly st@bbed his 38-year-old business partner, Mas’udu M. Sani, to d3ath with a knife in Niger Republic and fled to Gulma area of kebbi for cover.

The victim is said to be an indigene of Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The suspect and the deceased are Nigerians.

The PPRO said credible intelligence and sustained collaboration with international security agencies made his arrest possible.

He added that police had launched a manhunt on the suspect after he was declared wanted by authorities in Niger Republic, which led to his arrest in Kebbi State.

“Yes, we arrested a fugitive wanted in Niger Republic for stabbing his business partner to d3ath. We are currently investigating him at the SCID,” the PPRO said.

He added that the state command was working with the Interpol section under the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, Abuja.

“His prosecution can only be determined by our Interpol section at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, because most of their duties deal with cases that have to do with cross border and inter-country crimes,” he said.
