Kidnapped Edo Doctor Freed After N50 Million Ransom Paid
A medical doctor, Dr. Ibrahim Tahir, who was abducted from his residence in Auchi, Edo State, earlier this month, has been released after his family paid a ransom of N50 million.
Dr. Tahir was kidnapped alongside his younger brother on January 2, 2026. Tragically, his brother was later found dead.
The victims’ father confirmed the ransom was raised through contributions from family, NGOs, friends, and well-wishers. He stated that his son sustained a minor bullet wound during the incident and is now receiving treatment.
The Edo State Police Command has also confirmed Dr. Tahir’s release.
