Massive Crowds Welcome Adebutu, Iyabo Obasanjo as PDP Launches Ogun Central Campaign

Thousands of residents and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) turned out across Ogun Central Senatorial District on Wednesday as the party officially launched its campaign for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.

The campaign train, led by Ogun PDP governorship candidate Ladi Adebutu, his running mate Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, and Ogun Central senatorial candidate Iyabo Obasanjo, attracted large crowds in Ifo/Ewekoro, Abeokuta North, and Abeokuta South federal constituencies.

Supporters lined major roads and gathered at designated campaign venues to welcome the party leaders, chanting solidarity songs and expressing support for the PDP candidates ahead of the elections.

Speaking at the rally held in Abeokuta, Adebutu urged residents to support the PDP, describing Obasanjo as an experienced and credible candidate with a proven record of service. He called on voters to participate actively in the elections and safeguard their votes.

According to him, the party remains committed to delivering better governance and improving the welfare of citizens if elected into office.

Obasanjo, while addressing supporters, highlighted her previous public service roles and pledged to work towards improving the lives of residents through effective representation and people-focused policies.

She appealed to voters across the state to support the PDP candidates, assuring them of quality leadership and greater access to the dividends of democracy.

Several supporters who attended the rally also expressed confidence in the party’s candidates and pledged their support in the forthcoming elections.
