Minster: Tinubu Administration Laying Groundwork for Sustainable Growth
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, stated on Wednesday that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is establishing a strong foundation for long-term economic growth and shared national prosperity.
Idris made the remarks while receiving members of the Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu (GAT) 2027 group on a courtesy visit in Abuja.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Malam Rabiu Ibrahim, the Minister acknowledged that the government has implemented bold and difficult decisions intended to put the country on a more sustainable path.
”Early signs of recovery are becoming evident across key sectors,” Idris said. He described the administration’s recent steps as necessary to stabilize the economy and restore confidence. “What we are seeing today are the foundations for long-term growth,” he added.
The Minister emphasized that Nigeria’s improving economic outlook requires collective support. He cautioned that negative and distorted narratives harm investor confidence and slow national development.
“We must speak positively and truthfully about Nigeria. When we project stability and unity, we attract investments and create opportunities for our people,” Idris stated.
During the meeting, the Minister commended the GAT 2027 group for its civic engagement and accepted its proposal for a partnership. The collaboration would focus on public enlightenment, youth engagement, and strategic communication to help government policies reach grassroots communities.
“Advocacy groups play an important role in this process, and effective communication is essential to national stability and development,” he noted. Idris also reaffirmed the President’s commitment to ensuring Nigeria works for all citizens.
In his remarks, the National Coordinator of GAT 2027, Prof. Ochugudu Ipuele, said the visit was to show solidarity with the Minister’s mandate. He stated the group is committed to supporting the President’s policies by countering misinformation and engaging youth, particularly around election periods.
