NANS Identifies 39 Institutions Failing to Refund Students Following NELFUND Disbursements

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has released a list of 39 tertiary institutions across the country that have allegedly failed to refund students who paid their tuition fees before receiving financial support from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde, announced the list on Wednesday, asserting that these institutions have already received tuition payments from the federal loan body on behalf of eligible students but have yet to reimburse those who had already settled their fees out-of-pocket.
The association stated that the primary objective of publicizing the list is to ensure transparency and accountability, demanding that the affected institutions expedite the refund process. NANS emphasized that students should not be subjected to unnecessary financial strain due to administrative delays, insisting that reimbursements must be processed immediately.
