Nigeria, US Airstrikes Kill Over 20 ISWAP Fighters in North-East

The Nigerian military, in coordination with United States Africa Command, has killed more than 20 Islamic State West Africa Province fighters during fresh airstrikes in the North-East.
The operation took place around Metele, following intelligence on the movement of terrorist elements in the region. The strikes are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle militant networks and deny insurgents safe havens.
According to military authorities, multiple air raids were conducted, resulting in the elimination of over 20 ISWAP fighters. The joint operation aims to disrupt terrorist activities and prevent regrouping.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria reiterated its commitment to defending the nation’s sovereignty and security, vowing that there will be no safe haven for terrorists anywhere in the country.
The latest strikes come shortly after the confirmation by the United States and Nigerian presidents that ISIS kingpin Al-Minuki was killed in a separate joint counterterrorism operation.
