Nigerian Boxer Elizabeth Oshoba Climbs to Fourth in World Rankings

Elizabeth Oshoba

Nigerian professional boxer Elizabeth Oshoba has started 2026 as the world’s fourth-ranked super lightweight fighter, moving up one position in the latest BoxRec rankings.

The unbeaten 26-year-old, who holds the WBC silver featherweight title, now sits behind only the United States’ Alycia Baumgardner, Belgium’s Delfine Persoon, and Australia’s Mea Motu in the updated list.

In a statement, Oshoba expressed gratitude for the achievement but emphasized her ambition to rise further. “I’m grateful to God for this achievement, and I’m not stopping here,” she said. “My eyes are set on the top three and ultimately the number one spot.”

Oshoba maintains a perfect professional record of nine wins, with five victories coming by knockout. The boxer added that she is prepared to take on higher-ranked opponents. “Every fight is a step closer to my goal. I’m ready to face anyone in the top three,” she stated.

Her rise follows a strong 2025 season and a historic achievement in January 2024, when she became the first Nigerian female boxer to win a world title by capturing the WBC silver featherweight belt.

Oshoba, who also holds the IBO super-featherweight title, now ranks ahead of Spain’s Jennifer Miranda. The current top three consists of Baumgardner (17–1), the veteran Persoon (50–3), and Motu (23–1).
