Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci Earns Third Guinness World Record
Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has announced she is now a three-time Guinness World Record holder, after being informed that her September 2025 attempt also secured the title for the largest serving of rice overall.
Baci, who had already broken the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice last September, shared the update on Tuesday via Instagram, updating her profile to reflect her new status.
According to an email from Guinness World Records, her achievement in preparing 8,780 kilograms of jollof rice also surpassed the benchmark for the largest serving of rice in any category. Baci expressed surprise and gratitude, stating she was “shocked and happy at the same time” upon receiving the news five months after her initial record was confirmed.
This marks her third Guinness World Record, following her 2023 marathon cooking record and the jollof rice achievement last year. In her statement, Baci credited her team and divine guidance for the success, emphasizing the collaborative effort behind the milestone.
The recognition reinforces Baci’s standing as a leading figure in Nigeria’s culinary scene and highlights the growing global visibility of Nigerian cuisine.
