NSCDC, UBEC Partner To Strengthen School Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, are set to strengthen collaboration to ensure safer schools and better protection of educational infrastructure nationwide.

The Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, made this known during a visit to the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Aisha Garba.

The meeting focused on deepening institutional cooperation, particularly in school security and the protection of critical educational assets.

Prof. Audi said a safe and secure learning environment is essential for effective delivery of basic education. He noted that protecting schools helps safeguard pupils, teachers, education personnel and government investments in the sector.

He reaffirmed the Corps’ readiness to work with UBEC to develop practical security interventions for educational facilities across the country.

In her response, Dr. Garba welcomed the partnership and stressed the need for stronger collaboration with security agencies to secure schools and protect investments in basic education.

Both institutions agreed to explore areas of mutual interest and strengthen coordination for safer learning environments.
