Ogun Police Sensitise Residents on Electoral Malpractice, Road Safety

The Ogun State Police Command held a sensitisation campaign on Wednesday, cautioning residents against electoral malpractices such as ballot box snatching and electoral violence.
The exercise, which coincided with National Police Day, was conducted simultaneously across area commands and divisions in the state. According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, the campaign was led by the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, and also addressed road safety awareness and traffic regulation compliance.
Oluseyi stated that the initiative marked Day Three of Police Week, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.” He explained that the outreach aimed to educate the public on the dangers of electoral offences while promoting collective responsibility for safety on the roads.
During the exercise, police officers engaged students, transport union members, and residents. The event concluded with the distribution of cooked meals, drinks, and souvenirs to members of the public.
The week-long programme, which began on Monday nationwide, is intended to strengthen relations between the police and the communities they serve.
