Ondo governor assigns portfolios to 16 newly sworn-in commissioners with a strong call for immediate action and accountability.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa made the announcement less than 24 hours after administering the oath of office to the appointees.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, released the official statement on Tuesday from Akure, confirming the full cabinet list and their respective ministries.
The newly appointed commissioners were tasked with aligning their work with the administration’s goals of transparency, service delivery, and effective governance.
The list is as follows:
Idowu Ajanaku – Information and Orientation
Igbekele Ajibefun – Education
Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye – Infrastructure, Lands and Housing
Ayodele Akande – Water Resources and Public Sanitation
Alabi Johnson – Energy and Mineral Resources
Amidu Takuro – Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
Adewale Akinlosotu – Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations
Seun Abosede Osamaye – Women Affairs and Social Development
Tob Loko – Environment
Olaolu Akindolire – Budget and Economic Planning
Sunday Olajide – Physical Planning and Urban Development
Omoyofunmi Segun Henry – Youths and Sports Development
Bola Ademuwagun – Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives
Leye Akinola – Agriculture and Forestry
Banji Awolowo Ajaka – Health
Adesoji Afolabi – Culture and Tourism
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the International Centre for Culture and Events in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa reminded the appointees that their responsibilities must transcend parochial interests.
He stressed that the welfare of the entire Ondo populace must guide their decisions and actions.
“This is a call to service, not celebration,” Aiyedatiwa declared. “We expect nothing less than dedication, integrity, and performance from each of you.”
“To your family members, friends, and associates, I offer congratulations and a word of caution,” the governor said.
“While we appreciate their support, they must not put the new appointees under undue pressure by soliciting unnecessary favours.”
