Osetoba Congratulates Ekiti United, appreciates stakeholders

The Technical Advisor to the Governor on Sports Development, Hon. Olusola Osetoba, has congratulated Ekiti United FC on their impressive 3–1 victory over Rovers FC of Calabar in their final home match of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The match, played at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti, saw the home side deliver a strong performance to secure all three points against their conference rivals.
In her remarks, Hon. Osetoba commended the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his unwavering commitment to sports development in the state. She noted that Ekiti has witnessed significant growth in sports under the current administration, describing it as unprecedented in the state’s history.
She also praised sports stakeholders across the state for their consistent support, which she said contributed immensely to the team’s successful campaign. Ekiti United FC has notably climbed out of the relegation zone and now sits third in Conference B, with one match remaining an away fixture against Stormers FC of Abeokuta scheduled for midweek.
The Technical Advisor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to further developing all sectors of sports, emphasizing the government’s resolve to elevate Ekiti State’s reputation in the national sporting arena.
She concluded by appreciating the fans and supporters for their unwavering loyalty throughout the season. Hon. Osetoba also extended her best wishes to Ekiti-based teams Olukismet Fc, Agbana wonders FA and Choice Fc among others who are preparing for the forthcoming Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO), expressing optimism that more teams from the state will feature in the NNL next season.
