Osun 2026: APC Chieftain Debunks Rumors of Tinubu, Oyetola Abandoning Oyebamiji

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, have withdrawn their support for the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Speaking to journalists during a grassroots campaign tour in the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency on Sunday, Oyintiloye labeled the rumors as outright falsehoods. He attributed the speculation to desperate opposition figures aiming to sow discord within the rank and file of the APC ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Oyintiloye assured party faithful that both the President and the Minister remain deeply invested in the APC’s electoral success in Osun State. According to him, the two leaders are actively monitoring the campaign’s progress and providing the necessary political leadership and strategic backing to secure victory.

“President Tinubu and our leader, Oyetola, have never relented in their support for Oyebamiji,” Oyintiloye stated. “Anyone suggesting otherwise is spreading falsehood to mislead the public. The APC remains united, focused, and determined to reclaim Osun.”

He emphasized that the party’s leadership at both national and state levels including notable figures such as Chief Bisi Akande, National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, and State Chairman Tajudeen Lawal are working tirelessly to ensure a favorable outcome at the polls.

Call to Action and Warning Against Violence

The APC chieftain urged party members across the 30 local government areas and the Area Office to intensify their grassroots mobilization efforts. He advised them to focus on direct voter engagement, highlighting the achievements of the Tinubu and Oyetola administrations alongside Oyebamiji’s development blueprint.

“The election will not be won only on social media,” Oyintiloye remarked. “We must continue to engage our people at the grassroots, visiting every community, polling unit, and household with our message of hope and responsible governance.”

Oyintiloye also cautioned opposition parties against deploying violence, intimidation, or any forms of lawlessness that could disrupt the democratic process. Condemning politically motivated violence and attempts to suppress voters, he called for an issue-based campaign driven by credible ideas and practical solutions.

Expressing confidence in the party’s prospects, Oyintiloye noted that Oyebamiji possesses the requisite experience and leadership capabilities to steer the development of Osun State, adding that a collective effort from all stakeholders will guarantee the APC’s return to power.
