Osun Election: ADC Chieftain Dele Momodu Backs Accord Party’s Adeleke for Second Term

African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Dele Momodu has declared his support for incumbent Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the former presidential aspirant urged opposition political parties to unite behind Adeleke to prevent a victory for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

While affirming his continued membership in the ADC, Momodu explained that his initial decision to join the party was motivated by a desire to build a broad opposition coalition. Despite the failure of a unified opposition front to materialize nationally, he maintained that practical political strategy must dictate actions in the Osun election.

Momodu praised Adeleke’s performance in key sectors, including infrastructure, health, education, and civil service welfare, describing him as a standout administrator with strong popular support. He warned that dividing opposition votes could create vulnerabilities during the upcoming poll and urged political actors to align behind the incumbent to secure a decisive outcome.
