Oyo: Abducted Family Regain Freedom after Sunday Igboho’s 2-hour ultimatum

A family including a pregnant woman, her children, and a sibling abducted by armed men has reportedly been released after Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, gave a two-hour ultimatum.

Igboho responded to the kidnapping and killing of a pregnant woman and her sibling, which happened at night in the Igboho area of Oyo State, by giving Fulani leaders in the community a two-hour ultimatum.

He accused certain members of the Fulani community of kidnapping residents and mentioned incidents where a pregnant woman and ransom talks reportedly ended in death.

The Yoruba nation activist warned that he would confront Fulani leaders if the body of the pregnant woman was not released within the given time.

“The person who brought the ransom, you still killed him and spared only one person,” he said, while warning that such incidents must not repeat.

“I am Sunday Igboho. I am calm because my fathers asked me to be calm with you. Let this be the last time such a thing will happen,” he said.

After the ultimatum, videos from the community showed residents celebrating what they said was the release of the kidnapped family.

However, the exact details of their release were still unclear when this report was filed.

Soon after, viral footage showing residents celebrating emerged on social media
