Police in Oyo State have apprehended 10 suspects believed to be part of a human parts trafficking ring, recovering several body parts and charms during a series of coordinated raids.

The arrests were confirmed on Saturday by the Oyo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, who revealed that the bust was the result of months of sustained intelligence gathering and surveillance by the command’s monitoring unit.

Tactical operatives launched targeted operations across hideouts in the Iseyin and Saki areas of the state, catching the syndicate off guard.

During the search of the locations, police seized critical evidence, including a suspected human heart, human flesh, fragments of a human skull, and various assorted charms. All recovered items have been secured for forensic examination.

The suspects are currently in police custody, providing investigators with details regarding the sources, procurement networks, and intended buyers of the human remains. Authorities noted that tracking down remaining members of the syndicate is actively ongoing.

Commending the operatives for their professionalism and painstaking intelligence work, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abimbola Olugbenga, reassured the public that the command remains fully committed to dismantling criminal networks and upholding the sanctity of human life throughout the state.
