PCC Boss Ends Half-Salary Regime For Staff, Commends Resilience

The Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Bashir Abubakar has announced the full implementation of the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) for staff of the Commission, thereby, bringing to an end the regime of half-salary payments with effect from the July, 2026 salary payment.

In a notification issued to all staff, the Chief Commissioner expressed profound appreciation for the patience, resilience, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by officers at the Commission’s Headquarters and State Offices, despite prolonged financial and welfare challenges.

He noted that, their dedication has ensured the Commission’s continued discharge of its mandate of providing administrative justice to Nigerians.

Hon. Abubakar attributed this milestone to sustained engagements with the Presidency, the National Assembly, the Budget Office of the Federation, and the Federal Ministry of Finance, which culminated in a significant increase in the Commission’s Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) allocation, as well as the approval of an intervention fund to strengthen the institution.

The Chief Commissioner urged staff to reciprocate the renewed government support with enhanced professionalism, diligence, integrity, and transparency in the discharge of their duties.

He further encouraged officers to continue supporting ongoing staff and payroll audits, including biometric verification, while reaffirming his commitment to the settlement of outstanding staff entitlements and the improvement of working conditions across the Commission as additional funding becomes available.
